Professional Consultation for Treating Clinicians

Dr. Hughes provides profession consultation for clinicians who are engaged in the treatment of trauma survivors. Areas that can be addressed include countertransference, vicarious traumatization, treatment planning, and risk management.

Psychological Testing

Dr. Hughes offers objective psychological assessment for your clients with the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2), Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI), Trauma Symptom Inventory (TSI), Clinician Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-IV (CAPS), tests of malingering, and others. She is also available to consult with you regarding psychological assessments that have been previously administered by other psychologists.

Legal Matters

Because of her involvement in criminal and civil matters in her forensic practice, Dr. Hughes can provide consultation with therapists and/or their clients for dealing with the legal system. Dr. Hughes can assist therapists in their preparation for deposition or court testimony and can treat individuals in psychotherapy for the emotional distress that individuals often report when they are embroiled in a legal matter. Dr. Hughes consults with attorneys on the mental health aspects of civil and criminal cases related to general psychological functioning, trauma, dissociation, abuse, victimization, discrimination, and harassment.
